OU CCE is planning a series China Trips in 2008-09.

The 12-Day trip for RCPL Alumni and OK Planners (and their relatives) is scheduled for Oct. 13-24, 2008

The trip cost is estimated at $2,750 per person that covers:

(a) Round-trip international air (i.e., LAX-China, AirChina)

(b) All transportation (air/chartered bus) inside China

(c) 4-star full-service hotels (double occupancy)

(d) most meals (buffet breakfast + banquet-style lunch/dinner)

(e) most fees and tickets for attractions or shows

(f) China visa fee

(g) professional local travel guide services

(h) emergency travel insurance (if paid in full 45 days prior to departure)

(i) OU appointed faculty/staff escort service for the trip

US domestic flights between LAX and departure cities (i.e., OKC) are not included.

The trip will be mainly a sight-seeing tour to both historic and modern attractions, but some activities to interact with local public and private planners (i.e., visiting their offices) and visits to local Urban Planning Museums (i.e., Beijing, Shanghai, Suzhou) are added as well. There are 2-3 free-days in which you can explore Beijing, Shanghai, and Hangzhou on your own or in smaller groups. Some shopping stops are also arranged.

The cities to be visited include:

1. Beijing (15 million population, capital, the 2008 Olympics city)

2. Shanghai (18 million, China's commercial center, the 2010 World Expo city)

3. Hangzhou (7 million, China's top scenic and leisure city)

4. Suzhou (5 million, China's top manufacturing and garden city)

5. Wuxi (4 million, China's top light industrial city)

This is a group trip that requires a minimum of 15 people but no more than 20 people, first come, first serve.

OU CCE will soon announce a China Trip web page from which you can register, but you can reply now to chinatrip@ou.edu to indicate
