Annual Conference, held in Stillwater, are making a “Call for Presenters.”
The
2012 Conference Organizers are looking for professionals to present
papers on the many issues and problems associated with planning. The
conference will offer two general tracks: urban and rural planning.

The
Bring It Home
project is offering
free technical
training for home
builders, inspectors, architects, and others interested in learning the
technical requirements of the 2009 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC).

In 2011, the OKAPA Chapter received a
grant from APA to conduct a Chapter Strategic Planning effort. The focal
point of the effort will produce a policy
framework and action plan for board and organization development, chapter
operations, and program planning.
This project will enable the OKAPA leadership to:
Establish the skills and procedures to more
effectively meet CPC’s Minimum Chapter Performance Criteria;
Align new and existing OKAPA programs with
the APA Development Plan; and
Develop a growth plan and relationships to
ensure long-term program delivery and financial self-sufficiency

Enlist in basic training. Communications Boot Camp will include free webinars,
free how-to guides, case studies, and other online training materials -
everything you need to become a forceful champion of planning in your community.
This is an APA 12-week program to equip members with messages and strategies
that will help them reframe public perceptions of planning and respond to
planning critics.

The 2012 National Conference being held this coming
April in Los Angeles.
SUBJECT: Municipal
development fees An Act relating to local government
capital improvements; authorizing municipalities to implement development
fees; defining term; providing procedures and requirements for
implementation and collection of development fees; specifying scope of
fee; requiring process for collection and maintenance of development fees;
providing for credits or adjustments to development fees and procedures
related thereto; providing procedures for accounting for development fee
proceeds; stating test to be used by court in any challenge to a
development fee; clarifying rights of payor; capping certain fees;
clarifying municipal authority; providing for codification; and providing
an effective date.
APA Oklahoma currently has over 200 members including
practicing planners, elected and appointed officials, academicians, citizens
who care about planning, and students. The Chapter is led by an elected
governing board including five At-Large Directors. Join OKAPA now to stay
